CineMortals Is Back In Action!

 Hello fellow mortals,

We know that for the last few months we were distant, but this wasn't only a case for CineMortals. We had no social life in the last few months, we were basically textbook eating plants. We, the writers of Cinemortals, are also students, and in the last month we had to face final exams and other university related priorities. So, as stated, this little hiatus of ours was because of our academic studies and sadly we are short in staff, therefore we had to take a break.  This, is the only reason we were absent, and it will always be the only reason for our absence. As long as we have this opportunity to write about our love, cinema, we will. 

In a discussion, we decided that we should get more writers here in CineMortals. We will, as soon as we can, edit the Join Us page and add our writer openings in there. So if you're interested in writing reviews, news or stories on cinema for the mortals, watch out for that!

 We watched A LOT in this hiatus, and we're seriously ready to write about them, so get ready, because we will rock you like a hurricane. Starting today, a lot of new reviews will be published rapidly in a 10 day period, and then we will go back to our regular posting routine. Also, we have some exclusive lists we're creating in the oven, we will get them ready to publish in no time, so stay tuned! 

We just wanted to post this kind-of-apology-kind-of-announcement post to let you know what we've been up to and why we ghosted an entire community in this period. We, the writers, are ready to roll and Cinemortals is back in action!

Happiest Season, On It's Way

  Happiest Season Premiere Details  image by CTMG, Inc  So you've also,probably heard about the upcoming "Happiest Season" starring Mackanzie Davis (Blade Runner) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight). The movie also have some other giant names in the cast as well. Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, and others. This post is to give some further information about the movie.   The upcoming Happiest Season will premier on December 25th, in the holiday season, and on Hulu only.  Today, after Hulu's announcements, that got confirmed once again.  So, one thing, for me, is for sure, the movie will be extreme. Either extremely good, or the other way arround. That is, of course based on no solid lead, except for my bias about the director Duvall. You see, my adventure with her was always on edge. Just Go With It (2011) Movie Review

I am going to start my review by pointing out that I was truly curious when I saw Kidman in the cast. To be honest, I actually thought for a second that Adam Sandler was going to do a movie, which is not an Adam Sandler type of movie. Yet, that was not the case. "Just Go With It" is clearly a Sandler movie, which wasn't that much different than any other Sandler movie. Is that good or bad? Well, your call. The movie has a basic plot we all know, guy asks for a woman to be a stand-in for him to be with the pretty girl, therefore to be the happiest man. Pretty familiar right? Role Models (2008) Movie Review

A movie looks like a mainstream cheesy American comedy in the first look, "Role Models" actually offers quite a funny experience instead. It was actually nice to see a comedy movie that doesn't force you to laugh at meaningless car jokes, but instead makes you laugh, while succesfully transmitting it's main message, Do what you want to do with your life. Firstly, the plot is actually not bad at all. Even though it's just a comedy, character development mostly follows more of a drama pattern and grows with the story itself. Story expands a little too slow in some parts, a little too fast in some, but in the end, it expands and it doesn't feel forced so that's all good. 7500 (2019) Movie Review

 Released in 2019 for Germany, and in 2020 for most of the world, 7500 is a thriller set in a Berlin-Paris flight. Our leading character Tobias Ellis (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is the co-pilot of the flight which then became a subject to a terrorist attack. The terrorist group without any guns, but with knives made out of broken glass, tries to seize control of the plane on air. The terrorist group do all that to "show what it's like to lose someone" to the western world, according to their own words. They are just a bunch of brainwashed pawn in the field, trying to "revenge" the deaths in middle east. One of this terrorists, is a guy named Vedat, who is only 18 and is the only one in his group who speaks at least a bit of english. In the movie, we witness the frightening hours on this doomed flight. Throughout the movie, we can hear 4 different languages being spoken; Turkish, Arabic, German, and English. The Wrong Missy (2020) Movie Review

"The Wrong Missy" is a cheesy comedy, just like the ones before it. The new Netflix wanna-be comedy doesn't offer you much after the trailer, except for the same old story, first date gone wild type of romantic comedy. But is it worth a watch? First of all, I must mention right away that I just can't like the plot tricks so many comedies (first of all the Sandler ones) tried, and failed every time. Adding supernatural events, meaningless side characters and dialogues that make no sense whatsoever,just to make the comedy more goofy. It indeed is a safe option, but just doesn't make a good movie.
