Good Sam (2019) Movie Review

Fails To Reach The Viewer

The movie "Good Sam" has a theme we all are familiar with. Pay it forward, make people happy to make yourself comfortable. Pretty classy right? Cliche, yet still would work, but did it?

Firstly, it's really hard to categorize the movie, well at least I think it was really hard for the producers, since the movie is a lost love between inspirational drama, comedy and romance. Really though, the movie tries to give a basic message, so it's like a do good/feel good drama with a base line. In the other hand, it's not really a drama, since it mostly follows the so called love triangle, which isn't even a love triangle really, you can literally scream at the screen on what will happen in the end. So is it a romantic comedy? Not really, it's not that funny, or romantic.

It's such an open book, which could be OK until some point, but it really bores you in this moral story. You already know everything about anything, anyone. And it's pretty easy to see what happens in the very next scene. Therefore, the movie is having a hard time keeping the viewers attention. Yet,there's more. Movie actually tries to display some mysteries that are actually... not really a mystery at all. Story follows the hunt of the good sam, which is pretty obvious after 10 minutes for the viewer. The love triangle? Well, it's not even a decent try.

Technically, acting is not that amazing, I could actually say it was less than enough effort, maybe with an exception for actress Tiya Sircar, it was enjoyable to watch her role. Lighting didn't please me personally, some scenes, especially the ones with the first woman who got money, yet this is a personal opinion and might differ, I for one, wanted more light in these. As for the soundtracks, mediocre...

Long review short, "Good Sam" fails to keep viewer interested. It's a predictable cliche. Probably a safe option to produce, but I would like to see some risks taken, at least an attempt to create a real mystery.

  A cliche, but there's more! Actually, not really. Squared Love of Netflix, also knows as Milosc do kwadratu, was a Netflix suprise for sure.
