Ten Inch Hero (2007) Movie review

A Unique And Lovely Movie Experience

"Ten Inch Hero" is a movie I somehow avoided for a long time, it was on my watch list, before the very existence of the term watch list. Anyways, our story follows a group of friends, working in a sandwich shop, with all problems of their own. Some of them consider themselves ugly, some of them is alone, some of them is missing their family. It's so early in the review, but it's safe to say that it's a lovely, unique story. Well at least it was.. in 2007.

The plot is what I would call, joyful. It feels so good to see a movie with characters developing for real. Also, the story is pretty, it includes several sub stories, and all those stories gets to be displayed, even the bully's story. Even though I liked the story in general, I must say that story was repetitive at some points. There were scenes where I thought I've hit rewind by a mistake, some of the scenes were nearly identically same, which I couldn't understand why. Also, some knots were left unconnected, like about Piper's purpose to begin with. Yet still, there are parts that could actually be a all new movie easily, really, which is actually amazing. For example the road adventure, that was for sure, a well shot short movie, a road movie.

Technically, the shooting is pretty solid really. I mean, not the quality of the video obviously, it was 2007 for god's sake. But it was a well shot movie, never felt pushed out of story thanks to it. So, the lighting, it is a weird movie in that matter, it's surprisingly a real bright movie. But that's not bad, it actually makes it a unique movie in that sense. It seemed like a real good choice, scenes were pretty well lit, and it looked pretty cool, however it wasn't hurting the eyes, so it's easy to stand it, even better, nice job. Can't say the same things about soundtracks however, they were over repetitive, and at some points, out of context.

It's a pretty important movie for most of the cast actually, this review is about the movie itself, so I won't mention all of them, but you can read some behind the movie articles if you are curious. Anyways, the cast is also pretty good in this one. They seemed,more than enough, into their roles, most of all Harnois (as Piper) if you ask me, she had such an amazing time in this movie.

Summing up, "Ten Inch Hero" is offering a lot for sure, comedy,romance, both equally well displayed. Well, it's not a revolution for cinema,it has speed bumps in it, might say it's a bit repetitive, but it's still, such an amazing work. A unique experience awaits in this hidden gem, give it a try.
