Pitch Perfect (2012) Movie Review

Singing It's Way Up Nicely

The "Pitch Perfect" is a exceptional beauty for it's soundtracks.No one shall deny that. But the question is, is this half musical really a half movie at least?

The movie follows the adventures of an a capella group, on it's way to state finals. Our rebel hero Beca, is about to change the dynamics on the campus. Movie includes a lot of well composed soundtracks, well it mostly includes soundtracks. Anyways, enough with pre-watch info, this is a spoiler-free review in the end.

There's not a lot to say about the songs, but there is a lot to say about the parts without them. Well, even though the soundtracks keep this movie alive for as long as it lasts without boring the viewer, that's just not enough to be fair. I think that, with a fair judgement, it's OK to say that the movie is actually depending ONLY on those soundtracks, which is not looking good really.

The plot is more or less familiar, yet still, it's actually well displayed. Character development do exists, even though the way they develop is such a teen movie cliche. Characters do have a life without each other, or the main story, which means theres a pretty solid character sketch if you consider. Also, side characters have impact on the main story, and they don't seem so much of a dead weight, which is also, good.

Story expands rather slowly in this half musical, and it's mostly in the expected way. It feels like whatever the characters do, they just can't stop the wheels turning, the pre-determined story ending will happen! And in the end, we just get what we expected, what we saw them building, pretty clearly.

Technically, theres no major complaints for me. Maybe with the exception of real sudden volume changes in the background, it was a bit of annoying. Other than that, shooting seemed pretty nice, light gives you no headache, well lit.

Summing up, "Pitch Perfect" was not a perfect movie, but for sure at least pitched with my expectations. It's merely hard to call it a good movie without the soundtracks, but it is about singing anyway, so who cares? Pitch it.

Just Go With It (2011) Movie Review

I am going to start my review by pointing out that I was truly curious when I saw Kidman in the cast. To be honest, I actually thought for a second that Adam Sandler was going to do a movie, which is not an Adam Sandler type of movie. Yet, that was not the case. "Just Go With It" is clearly a Sandler movie, which wasn't that much different than any other Sandler movie. Is that good or bad? Well, your call. Role Models (2008) Movie Review

A movie looks like a mainstream cheesy American comedy in the first look, "Role Models" actually offers quite a funny experience instead. It was actually nice to see a comedy movie that doesn't force you to laugh at meaningless car jokes, but instead makes you laugh, while succesfully transmitting it's main message, Do what you want to do with your life. Firstly, the plot is actually not bad at all. Even though it's just a comedy, character development mostly follows more of a drama pattern and grows with the story itself. Story expands a little too slow in some parts, a little too fast in some, but in the end, it expands and it doesn't feel forced so that's all good. 7500 (2019) Movie Review

 Released in 2019 for Germany, and in 2020 for most of the world, 7500 is a thriller set in a Berlin-Paris flight. Our leading character Tobias Ellis (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is the co-pilot of the flight which then became a subject to a terrorist attack. The terrorist group without any guns, but with knives made out of broken glass, tries to seize control of the plane on air. The terrorist group do all that to "show what it's like to lose someone" to the western world, according to their own words. They are just a bunch of brainwashed pawn in the field, trying to "revenge" the deaths in middle east. One of this terrorists, is a guy named Vedat, who is only 18 and is the only one in his group who speaks at least a bit of english. In the movie, we witness the frightening hours on this doomed flight. Throughout the movie, we can hear 4 different languages being spoken; Turkish, Arabic, German, and English. "The Wrong Missy" is a cheesy comedy, just like the ones before it. The new Netflix wanna-be comedy doesn't offer you much after the trailer, except for the same old story, first date gone wild type of romantic comedy. But is it worth a watch? First of all, I must mention right away that I just can't like the plot tricks so many comedies (first of all the Sandler ones) tried, and failed every time.
