Holidate (2020) Movie Review

Image
Worth A Mention As A Mood Booster                                image by Netflix 2020 New on Netflix, Holidate is a title we're used to. The movie follows 2 misfits, Sloane and Jackson, on their 'holidate' journey, whatever that means I am still not sure. It's something like a friends with benefits type of thing, without benefits, and we can't really call them friends. They basically agree to be each other's dates on every holiday, so they don't have to worry about picking a date, acting normal, you know.. all the dating stuff. First of all, this is the first Emma Roberts performance I really enjoyed since "It's Kind Of A Funny Story", which was also a great movie by the way. Anyways, Roberts (as Sloane) is a grown woman roaming arround in her pyjamas and Jackson, well we don't know much about Jackson. So uhm, the 2 misfit meets at a mall, both trying to return their presents for money. Then, they get into a word duel, they call it a tie

The Trial Of The Chicago 7 (2020) Movie Review

The Whole World Is Watching!                                                                                                            image by Amazon.com, lnc. As I was checking if I have indeed watched the entire Netfix archive for romantic comedies (so I can write some more bad reviews) I decided to do myself a favour and watch something worthy. So, the trial was ahead. Before getting into the full review, I would like to note that, well, I loved it! The Trial Of The Chicago 7 covers the events that got out of hand at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, United States. This is not a history class, so I will just say, it got wild friends. This convention was held to protest the war, that cost too many lives all across United States. It was meant to be peaceful but due to the lack of organization and brutal police blocks, the convention protest got out of hand, costing lives on both sides. That, was the brief summary of the events, and I wanted to note these down, so

Happiest Season, On It's Way

Image
Happiest Season Premiere Details  image by CTMG, Inc  So you've also, probably heard about the upcoming "Happiest Season" starring Mackanzie Davis (Blade Runner) and Kristen Stewart (Twilight). The movie also have some other giant names in the cast as well. Dan Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, and others. This post is to give some further information about the movie.   The upcoming Happiest Season will premier on December 25th, in the holiday season, and on Hulu only.  Today, after Hulu's announcements, that got confirmed once again.  So, one thing, for me, is for sure, the movie will be extreme. Either extremely good, or the other way arround. That is, of course based on no solid lead, except for my bias about the director Duvall. You see, my adventure with her was always on edge. She is, indeed a great actress, but I can't be so sure about her director performance. In the end,  I loved her on "Ten Inch Hero" ( as Jen, 2007 romantic comedy) as an actre

After Update On Cinemortals

Hello again Mortals, As mentioned in our post published earlier this week ( Click here to reach it) we were doing some renovations on the blog. Today, we completed them all and set them public. Nothing major, but some good changes are here! Here's what we've done : 1) We installed a new Privacy Policy to the blog, you can find this page on the top bar, the one starting with HOME? Yeah, that's the one. Or, you can just click this link to reach it ( Click this to reach it)   2) We wrote some of the top bar pages again, there's a new About Us Page live, there's an edited Contact Us Page, and minor changes to the other pages up there. 3) We completely changed the archive system, it's now both easier to navigate, and easier to understand. You can find it in the same spot as before, in the sidebar( left on your screen). 4) We added a Tags page to the sidebar as well, it's right under the archive, it makes it easier if you're trying to find a single genre, fo

Update Notice About Cinemortals

Hello mortals,  First of all, I must apologize for my absence in the last weeks. Well, long story short, I was working very hard, and my laptop was not really an option to do anything with. It's all good now though, I have a brand new laptop, and I am unemployed once again. So as long as I'm not studying, I will be focusing on this blog, since the university will always be my main concern.  Also, I would like to note that there will be a few changes in our layout soon. That will most likely be about our archive system generally. In this maintenance period, you may lose acces to some of our reviews. But don't worry mortals, we will get them back on in no time. We are planning to end this maintenance in a week at most, so you won't even notice their absence probably. Thank you kindly for your patience dear mortals, keep loving the cinema! - Batuhan
